Quarterfinals Recap - Tough Losses for ROXY team surfers

The quarterfinal round of the ROXY Pro kicked off today, with ROXY surfers Sally Fitzgibbons, Stephanie Gilmore and Bianca Buitendag all competing in this elimination round.

Australian Sally Fitzgibbons met fellow Aussie Tyler Wright in a VERY close match, with Tyler clinching the win by just .29 points with a total score of 12.53.

South African surfer Bianca Buitendag surfed against American Courtney Conlogue in the round, narrowly losing the heat with a 14.20 score to Courtney’s 15.00.

Five-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore surfed against current Women’s World Champion Carissa Moore in the quarterfinals. Stephanie struggled to find a scorable wave as a drastic change in conditions occurred during the last heat of the round. Carissa defeated Stephanie with a total score of 10.60.
