Cool girl’s guide to summer

Roxy ambassador Fiona Franklin lets us in on her top tips for having a killer summer.

Where do you live most of the year?
Born and bred on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

Any cool cafes, bars or shops to check out in your area?
Stewart’s Music on the Gold Coast Hwy at Mermaid Beach is a niche little music store run by a great bunch of people. They make good coffee too. It’s a pretty groovy place…

In summer what is it you can't live without?
Just three things… bikini, surfboard and guitar.

What's your ideal summer day and what will you be wearing?
It’s got to be one of those long midsummer days where I can be in the surf as the sun rises. I’d be wearing a loose floral dress like the Ocean Fields Dress in Roxy’s HS12 collection and driving around in my kombi with the music blaring.

What swimsuit do you want this year?
I absolutely love the new Roxy Lombok range. They have a stunning bright blue and red floral print and are perfect to mix and match with the Bora Bora solids.

Any tips for finding the right swimsuit?
Finding the right style that is comfortable and suits your figure is essential. I personally favor bikinis with an underwire because when you basically live in a bikini for three months of the year like I do I think it’s important to have some support. This year is going to be all about bright colors and floral prints.

What will be your summer album?
There are three CD’s that never leave my car and that’s Leppelin I, II and III.

What is your summer beauty essential you can’t live without?
I can’t live without my Dove tinted moisturizer. It gives you a glowing, natural touch of color without the heaviness of a foundation. It’s also SPF 15+ - so important when you’re on the beach as much as me!

What would be your ultimate summer destination?
A hide-away resort in Fiji.

Most magical experience?
Playing with my band Frankie and The Moon in front of 15,000 people at the “Launch it” festival last year supporting Pete Murray. The stage was set up on the beach at Surfers Paradise and friends of mine listened from the water.
